Vince Smith Hair Experience believes in giving back to our community and to those who are less fortunate.
We believe that we’ve been blessed in so many ways, especially considering our proximity to Ground Zero… only 3 blocks.
After 9/11, in order to make sure our clients and ourselves had some help in handling the enormity of the trauma that happened on September 11th, 2001 and it’s aftermath, Vince contacted Project Liberty and arranged to have a trauma specialist counselor visit the salon twice a week for two years. Glenn Healy was dedicated and motivated to make sure everything and everyone was doing OK. And now we are, Glenn. Thanks to you…
Through the years, we have organized different events to raise awareness and to raise money for the causes that have touched us.
For the First Annual Battery Park City Block Party, Vince and his Team had an outdoor Cut-a-Thon to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. It’s a degenerative disease that affects so many people and touches countless others’ lives.
The Vince Smith Hair Experience Team celebrated our 13th Anniversary in business with a Halloween fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation with the theme: “Fall of the Roman Empire”. A great time was had by all. And a donation was made to a very worthy and personal cause. Thanks to all of you who supported us and supported the MSF. View photos of the event here.
Having re-discovered his musical roots, Vince produced a CD Single of a song he wrote and performed,“The Brothers: A Tribute to the Twin Towers”. All proceeds from the sale of the CD go to the Lower Manhattan Small Business Fund, an account sponsored by Women’s Venture Fund.
Vince sponsored, produced and performed in the 1st Annual Lower Manhattan Small Business Fund Benefit Concert at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. Lower Manhattan Councilman Alan Gerson was our MC. Vince performed “The Brothers” with a 7-part choir. The program was rounded out by performances of heart-felt songs chosen by each of the other 7 singers.
Vince produced, hosted and headlined The 2nd Annual Lower Manhattan Small Business Fund Benefit Concert at Museum of Jewish Heritage, A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. With corporate sponsorship from Goldman Sachs, Battery Park City Authority, Port Authority of NY and NJ, among others, as well as ticket sales and CD sales, Vince was able to give 2 Lower Manhattan small business owners each $5000 grants. And we had a lot of fun doing it! Visit vincesmithmusic.com
