Vince Smith Hair Experience is made up of a team of beautiful and
talented professional hair and makeup artists. Everyone on the team does color,
cutting and styling. And most of us are experienced makeup artists as well.
We work together to give our clients the best quality experience
and best service possible.
We consult with you, help you analyze your needs and wishes. And
integrate them into your lifestyle and realm of possibilities, always mindful
of current trends and classic styling. Check out some of our work in the Fall
03 Collection.
As relaxing as your hair experience can be the salon
does have a happening, friendly atmosphere, good music, complimentary beverages
and a welcoming environment.
Vince Smith Hair Experience has been
recognized for having been established so early in the history of Battery Park
City (1990), and for the work we’ve been turning out. The cuts, the styling,
the color! and the makeup.
We’ve also been recognized for our Community Service. After 9/11, Vince
contacted Project Liberty and arranged to have a trauma specialist counselor
visit the salon twice a week for two years to help our clients and ourselves
handle the enormity that was 9/11/2001 and it’s aftermath, rebuilding! Glenn
Healy was dedicated and motivated to make sure everything and everyone was
doing “ok”. And now we are, Glenn. Thanks to you...
We done lots of other charitable work. We believe we've been so blessed to have survived and thrived after such an enormous tragedy. We make an effort to participate in fundraising events as well as organize events of our own. We donate our time and talent to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and among other efforts, to helping other Lower Manhattan small businesses who have suffered since 9/11. Vince sponsored 2 benefit concerts to support this cause.
It’s been really rewarding watching Battery Park City grow and
helping the neighborhood establish it’s identity.
Vince loves to teach. He conducts an apprentice program in the salon
for carefully selected beauty school graduates. They participate in a hands-on
workshops in order to complete a 2 year training course before Vince gives them a
chair of their own to begin working with our clientele.
People are multi-dimensional. Vince likes to take the time to find out
about the person he's designing a “look” for. He takes into consideration each
client’s professional requirements, their personal needs, the amount of daily
styling that’ll be involved, what kind of image the client is trying to achieve
and what is actually achievable, as well as what shapes and colors are suited
to that person’s bone structure, skin and eye color, body type and proportions.
That way he can create a look that’s suitable, versatile, flexible and looks
good all the time.
